Major Padmapani Acharya was also part of this mission.  The battalion recaptured the Tololing top. But they lost Major Padmapani Acharya, who fought bravely and played a pivotal role in that mission. He was awarded nation's second highest gallantry award, "Mahavir Chakra".  But before this, his conversation with his father, showed his greatness and calm mind.  In the letter he wrote that  Don't worry about casualties, It's a professional hazard which is beyond our control, so why worry ; at least it's for a good cause. He also mentioned lines from " Bhagavad Gita"  Hato Va Prapsyasi svargam, Jitya va Bhoksyase Mahim, Tasmad Uttistha Kaunteya, Yuddhava krit nischay Translation :- O son of Kunti, either you will be killed on the battlefield and attain the heavenly planets, or you will conquer and enjoy the earthly kingdom. Therefore get up and fight

Breaking the Stereotypes

Image
She was ready to break stereotypes. She was passionate for it and she had to prove herself. She even had to leave her family for this. And she did it. She cleared the exam and one of the toughest interview and was ready to join  Officers Training Academy. For the next 49 weeks, she has to undergo gruelling training in the academy. She will be pushed out of her comfort zone everyday. And she survived tough training and passed out from  OTA  as a  Lieutenant  in  Indian Army. She brokes the stereotype. She did the thing which is aspired by many but is achieved by very few. She made her family & friends proud. But from now every Indian will be proud of her. Life will be not easy for her after this but she will overcame all the problems. This is a small tribute to all the women in uniform.
